Taliesin is now a teenager and trouble is brewing between the Canolbarth Kingdom and the Kingdom of Gwynedd to the north. At the annual feast Prince Elphin stands up and defies King Maelgwn Gwynned's boasting. Elphin states his women are more beautiful, his bards are more poetic and his horses are faster! Outraged by this Maelgwn locks Elphin in the dungeons!
